Thai Unryushi paper is a lightweight speciality paper made from Kozo (paper mulberry) fibres, distinguished by its long, flowing fibres dispersed throughout the sheet. These fine fibres create an expressive, cloud like pattern across the surface while giving the paper a distinctive sense of movement and depth.
The paper has a lightweight, translucent quality, allowing light to pass through and highlight the natural fibres within the sheet. Despite its delicate appearance, the long Kozo fibres provide strength and flexibility, with a range of weights available for different creative applications.
Thai Unryushi paper is suitable for calligraphy, printmaking, collage, origami, bookbinding, stationery, paper sculpture and decorative paper projects. Its translucency and fibrous surface also make it particularly effective for lampshades, lanterns, interior screens and window treatments.
The collection includes a range of weights and natural variations, with selected varieties incorporating mulberry bark or metallic threads for additional texture and visual interest. Each sheet reflects the natural character of Kozo fibre, making Thai Unryushi a versatile paper where texture, translucency and materiality are central to the finished work.
