This bamboo paper pad from Awagami is designed specifically for sumi-ink painting and has excellent ink absorbency. The surface is wonderful for expressive brushwork, including the traditional effect of 'bleeding' in sumi-e painting. Each pad, made exclusively with 70% bamboo and 30% recycled kozo pulp, contains 15 acid-free and unsized sheets with interleaf pages placed between to prevent bleed-through.
