Handmade Sekishu Torinoko Gampi is a natural, translucent, and glossy paper made from the strong and Gampi fibres found in the mountainous regions in Japan. Due to the difficult cultivation process, Gampi is generally gathered in the wild, making it a valuable and expensive material for papermaking. Its fine fibres create a thin yet resilient sheet with a beautiful shine, making it ideal for paper conservation and restoration of artworks. Despite its lightweight, this silky smooth paper has exceptional strength.
