The unique texture of Ukigumo is especially soft, owing to its composition of 70% rayon and 30% sulphite. It is made by a process of water being forced through a specially designed patterned screen. The base paper is extremely soft and lightweight with a silk like feel, yet maintaining its strength. Its delicate texture and appearance make it suitable for projects that require a subtle, elegant touch.
